They are looking for a senior developer to join our team developing our industry-leading performance reporting application. This role requires a pragmatic visionary who can translate business requirements into practicable solutions that scale both technologically and operationally. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience architecting and delivering large-scale database applications. In this role you'll work with engineers and other cross functional teams like Product Management, Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Operations, etc. to develop innovative solutions that deliver business functionality while maintaining performance, scalability, reliability, and realistic implementation schedules without neglecting development goals and principles.

Day to day job responsibilities include enhancing the application features and functionality, meet with product to understand the new requirements, supporting UA and QA testing, supporting change management activities and working with our infrastructure team.  Documenting the design, highly verbose commented code and application of best practices are a must.  

o   Strong Transact-SQL skills including both stand-alone scripting and stored procedures

o   Background with Sybase or MS SQL Server, preferably Sybase ASE 15.X

o   Basic Unix command line skills, ksh knowledge helpful

o   Java 1.6+ server side development, some Spring Framework knowledge helpful

o   Web services and XML 

Soft skills

o   Quick Learner, adaptable

o   Strong Analysis skills, independently query data, read code, and figure things out

o   Must be an abstract thinker - understanding of Logic and Discrete Mathematics or a background including Engineering, or Math are good indicators of capable abstract thinkers.

•        Industry knowledge helpful, large financial or investment experience will be excellent
