Position: Investment Analytic Support Consultant                                        

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Rate: $45/ hr

Basic Purpose:

Under general supervision of the Manager of the Investment Analytic Support Group, the Analytic Support Contractor will join an operations team responsibility for the integrity of all of the investment and analytical data across many risk and trading platforms within the MFS Investment process.

Principal Responsibilities:

1.       Monitors a variety of data checks to ensure the accuracy of data within the Trading, Risk, and Inventory systems to minimize the risk of using erroneous information during any step of the investment process.

2.       Works with outside vendors and MFS's Investment Systems Development area to address technology issues and/or data issues, and uses analytical skills to research and resolve. Data types can include security, index constituents, credit ratings, analytics, performance and pricing information.

3.       Monitors daily cash files from MFS's custodian banks and works closely with our contacts at the banks to reconcile any differences in the cash that is available for trading on the Money Market Trading Desk.

4.       Assists in the implementation of new OMS Charles River Investment System, and new index aggregator service from RIMES.

Job Requirements:

1.       Bachelor's degree in business, finance or math-related field.  (work completed towards a Master's degree or CFA a plus)

2.       Minimum 2-3 years' industry experience with at least one year in Fixed Income area preferred.

3.       Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Excel, database knowledge and macro programming.

4.       Strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work well within a team environment as well as exercising independent judgment from time to time.

Nice To have:

5.       Experience with Charles River Investment Systems, RIMES index products, and Eagle Investment Systems preferred.
