Sr. Pythonn Developers

Location: Washington, DC

Duration: 3 Years

Status:  EAD/GC/USC

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The Senior Python Developer will serve as a technical lead for a large scale web development effort. The candidate will be responsible for leading and participating in the definition, design, and development of the software, tools and technologies that satisfy functional requirements, within the scope, schedule, and priorities as assigned by the project manager. The candidate must be familiar with the entire lifecycle of software development, and have experience leading development teams in creating and maintaining applications for production environments.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

- 5-7 years of developing and deploying Python-based applications using contemporary web frameworks such as Django

- Experience with Oracle, MySQL, or other database in large scale application development

- Be highly adaptable to working in a team environment and in a technical leadership role.

- Be a motivated and creative problem solver, exhibit excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

- Exhibit the ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.

- Experience with planning and coordinating the release of versioned development builds to QA and production environments

- Experience with planning and coordinating the development team's work using ticket tracking/versioning tools (such as Trac/JIRA/SVN)

- Experience with addressing deployment issues regarding scale, performance, and administration throughout the development lifecycle

- Experience developing and deploying Python-based applications using contemporary Web frameworks (such as Django)

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

- Familiarity with implementing test-driven design (TDD) desired

- Experience with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) a plus

- Experience with web delivery infrastructure, virtual machines, Linux, caching desired
