Job Title: Senior/Lead Oracle DBA
Location: Harrisburg, PA
Duration: 12 months
Description:
This position will provide ongoing database administration support for all DEP Oracle databases running on all DEP computing environments. Work outside normal business hours (evenings, weekends and holidays) may be required.
Position will be responsible for:
- installing, patching, upgrading, creating, tuning and maintaining DEP's Oracle databases and data.
- database management, monitoring and support software and database tools in all DEP computing environments.
- developing, testing, implementing, maintaining and documenting startup, shutdown, backup and restoration procedures, scripts and jobs for DEP databases.
Position must provide routine status reports (weekly at a minimum) and other communications to BIT management in both written and verbal form.
Position must also be able to take a lead role in technical meetings with other IT staff. Prior experience upgrading Microsoft Windows and Linux-based Oracle databases, in the below listed versions, is required.
Must be able to (where applicable): use, install, patch, upgrade, create, tune, maintain, script, program & troubleshoot all in-use and future versions of the following:
Oracle Linux
Oracle Database (10g, 11g)
Oracle Database (12c)
Oracle Active Data Guard (11g)
Oracle Active Data Guard (12c)
Oracle Database Gateway for SQL Server (10g, 11g)
Oracle Database Gateway for SQL Server (12c)
Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g
Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c
SQL, PL/SQL
RMAN
Data Pump Export & Import
Microsoft Windows 7, Server 2003, 2008, 2012 (32 & 64-bit systems)
SSH, FTP, PC X, RDP, Citrix, VPN clients & servers
Database version breakdown:
10.1.0.4 (1), 10.2.0.3 (2), 11.1.0.7 (13), 11.2.0.1 (13) & 11.2.0.3 (1)
9 of the 11.2.0.1 databases are running on Oracle Linux servers. The remainder are running on Windows Server 2003 & 2008 machines.
