Position                : Hadoop Developer

Location               : Richmond, VA

Duration              : 3-6 Months

Experience         : 3-5 Years

Job Requirement & Technical Skills Required:

·         Having hands on knowledge on Big Data technologies i.e. Hadoop (HDF & Map Reduce), and its eco system components like Pig, Hive,sqoop

·         Should be able to perform in Customer Facing role.

·         Should have good verbal & written communication skills.

·         Should have worked in an Agile delivery environment.

·         Should be a self-starter & should be proactive in gathering information.

·         Should work on proactively getting feedback from customers & identify improvement areas.

·         Should be good at setting the correct expectation & should strive to build a positive perception with the customers

·         Previous Working in Onsite and offshore model is preferred.

·         Capable of understanding of business requirement/mappings and converting them into design.

·         Capable of communicating the design via documents to developers

Mandatory Skills: Big Data Big Data, Data Management Desirable Skills: Hive, Hadoop

Job Description:

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in requirements gathering and development

· Work experience with systems analysis and functional design

· Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity

· Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle

· Understanding of structured programming techniques

· Experience with documentation and problem resolution

· Good meeting facilitation skills

· Ability to present ideas and information in group settings

· Strong verbal and written communication skills that non-technical end users can understand

· The ability to create a positive and professional business relationship with internal and external clients & vendors

· Understanding of project management and Agile practices and deliverables

· Ability to lead teams, create action plans & resolve obstacles to achieve deadlines

Technical Skills:

· Knowledge of Web technologies and concepts

· Experience developing and supporting Web applications

· Experience developing and supporting mobile and social media applications

· Experience with enterprise content management systems (e.g. Adobe CQ5)

· Good understanding of database concepts and data modeling

· Experience writing basic SQL queries

· Experience with iterative development methodologies (e.g. Agile)

· Experience with Business Process Modeling

· Experience with identifying and leading process improvements within development organization

· Experience with financial services industry is a plus
