Position – Network/Infrastructure Architect

 

Location – Turlock, CA

Duration – Full time/ permanent

 

Job Summary

 

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for ensuring that server, storage, network, security, monitoring, virtualization and application needs are architected for redundancy, scalability and performance. Additionally, the Sr. Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for working with senior leadership and technical staff across all units in the company to formulate, maintain and communicate a cohesive architecture strategy.

 

Competencies

 

Provide architectural guidance for all major core infrastructure initiatives as well as new data center design and blue print

Oversee network architecture such as Network switches, routers, and external data connections, firewall, security etc

Research and recommend next generation technologies that align with the Application Delivery and Enterprise roadmap

Develop architectural strategy, including technology standardization and modernization

Architects and engineers to design, develop and coordinate disaster recovery, high availability strategies and BCP

Review and advise on high-level design  decisions to ensure proper integration of new solutions into the enterprise

Develop design standards and guidelines, and mentor other programer analyst, architects and engineers on best practices

Identify and address deficiencies in the network infrastructure and related services and engineer mitigation plan and strategy

Evaluate, test and provide recommendations for new tools for enterprise management

Lead effort to define and deploy a fully automated provisioning strategy

Execute a variety of security tasks across the enterprise to enable business to be transacted in a secure and reliable way.

Proactively engage in enterprise capacity planning and performance management

Maintain network security monitoring infrastructure, and implement monitoring infrastructure where necessary.Troubleshoot and respond to network security problems, events, incidents and attacks

VOIP/PBX architecture, support and administration.

Mentor peers

English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English

Technical Knowledge Requirements

 

Experience in New Data Center Design & Blue Print

Deep background in Servers Operating Systems

Real-world experience implementing large virtual infrastructures – VMware, VDI etc

Enterasys or Cisco knowledge in Routing, Switching, and Network Security

Solid understanding of Clustering and Load balancing techniques and technologies

Experience with data backup, business continuance and disaster recovery solutions

Performance tuning of Operating Systems, Applications, Databases, Storage, and Networking helpful

Experience with SAN, NAS design from architectural & operational standpoint

Network protocols / standards: DNS, DHCP/BOOTP, VRRP/HSRP, SMTP, LDAP, WINS/AD, SNMP, NAT, IPSec, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/IP/UDP

Experience of ITSM processes and procedures

Knowledge of server-related technology (e.g. RAID, SAN, cluster, services, and network applications 

Working knowledge of M.S. SQL Server, M.S. Exchange Server, Active Directory, M.S. Server 2K3 R2, ODBC connections, switches, routers, and firewalls. 

 

Qualifications: Education & Work Experience

 

A bachelor degree with a technical discipline that included classes in computer theory and operation, systems administration.   Additional accreditations, such as those for Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCDA/CCIE add value to this position.

 

CISSP certification is a plus

 

Familiar with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF) add value to this position.

 

5+ years of experience in an enterprise networking environment – expert knowledge voice and data network technologies - routers, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VoIP, firewalls, switches, DNX, TDM, etc. Actual work experience should include 5-7 years of hands-on systems/network administration.  Food processing and dairy industry experience is desirable but not required.
