1 year contract – 9/24/12-9/30/13

Description of Work:
Proactively gather the information necessary to understand automation work based on assignments and accurately generating estimates for the automation
Create, modify, convert automation scripts into designated automation frameworks
Create new or modify existing QTP scripts for regression testing that cover front end and back end validations
May work on SQL queries in SQL Server databases to validate data and to setup data for testing scenarios
Effectively communicate with  test teams, developers or any other IT teams
Always export automation scripts in HP ALM and execute from ALM for easy reporting
Always use good back up practices
Follow industry standard practice while creating functions, scripts
Actively participate in team processes and use of methodologies
 
Qualifications:
6+ years experience in software field and with at least 3 years of automation script development experience using VB
Exposure to testing/automating a wide variety of applications including client/server, web based, web services and database validation
Experience in QTP automation for Java, .net and Oracle based web system
Previous daily duties should have included majority of time writing and executing automated scripts in QTP v10 or higher
Experience with modifying objects in the Object Repository, as well as, Descriptive Programming is required
Understanding and experience in different frameworks especially Keyword and modular with data driven framework is plus
Strong SQL skills with MS SQL Server
Must be able to perform basic to complex select statements with joins of multiple database tables and perform update and insert to databases to create test data
Willingness to solve challenges, acceptance for new tools and techniques
Some manual software testing experience is desirable
Bachelor's degree or higher
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Understanding Requirements
Experience with other automation tools outside QTP as well as implementing various frameworks a plus
