Job Tittle: SQL DBA/Sybase DBA 

Location: Secaucus, NJ(LOCAL ONLY)

Duration: 9-12 months

Note: Candidates must be Local To NY/NJ ONLY and must be EAD, Green Card, Citizen

Primary Responsibilities

Assistance in the installation of new applications which have database requirements

Monitor database performance and tune where necessary

Test databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.

Assist with in-house apps' SQL development, optimization and QA/ production rollout

Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in databases against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure

Perform necessary database server maintenance, backup & restore, upgrade, patching

Maintain data replication using Sybase Replication and SQL replication

Maintain and support data replication. 

Required Skills/Knowledge: 

1.     RDBMS technologies: Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 and SQL Server cluster experience required. Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise 15x required. Currently on Sybase 15.7 

2.     SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) including package design, deployment and maintenance; MS Analysis Services design, deployment and maintenance.

3.     Database replication technologies: SQL Server Replication required, Sybase Replication Server preferred.

4.     Windows batch scripting and UNIX shell scripting.

Experience Needed:

This position requires a detailed understanding of Relational Database technologies and how they interact with applications across multiple platforms.  The candidate must also be familiar 

with Windows and UNIX platforms and be comfortable scripting and with basic operating system navigation.  In addition to these skills the candidate must possess strong written and verbal 

communication skills, excel at project management and be familiar with advanced operational processes and procedures in dealing with large database implementations.
