Job Description

Work Location:   KY - Louisville     Platform:            DB2 Job Title:            Sr. Database Analyst   Start Date:       07/28/2014      End Date: 07/28/2015   Explanation for Position: Will be a member of Transportation Technologies Portfolio development team responsible for high performance, near real-time business intelligence systems that are operations critical for United Parcel Service.   Details of Position: The project team is in need of an experienced Subject Matter Expert on Microsoft SQL Server and the Business Intelligence stack. Development activities include near real-time database driven Microsoft BI systems. Responsibilities include participation in requirements analysis, technical designs, coding, unit testing, product test support, and deployment support. Knowledge, understanding, and experience of designing and developing MS BI solutions.   Management Skills: Must have Bachelors and/or Masters in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering. 5-8+ years software development experience with Microsoft platform. Familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment with other developers, QA personnel, and user representatives. Must have excellent oral communication skills to interact with users and other team members. Must have excellent written communication skills to be able to write concise and understandable project documentation, functional specifications, user manuals and other technical materials.
