Job Description

Front-End Engineers are responsible for coding, testing, documenting and delivering cross-browser web sites / applications that separate structure, presentation, and behavior using semantic markup, CSS, and unobtrusive JavaScript. They pay attention to detail, scalability, performance & maintainability. They have a broad understanding of modern web development practices. Their front-end code will be integrated into a large software applications. They constantly keep up to date on new front-end development methods and technologies. 5+ years of consumer-facing web front-end development experience.

 

Tech Skills in priority order:

• JavaScript (jQuery / jQuery UI / AJAX / JSON / ReSTful service integration)

• HTML5

• CSS3 (LESS or some CSS preprocessor experience)

• backbone.js (or some JavaScript MV* framework)

• JavaScript Task Automation (e.g. Grunt, node.js)

•jQuery Mobile (or some mobile web framework)

 

Desired: some experience with:

• standards-compliant code / cross-browser compliant code

• device/browser-specific testing and debugging

• web performance best practices

• progressive enhancement

• polyfills/shims

• responsive design

 

Added bonus - NOT a requirement:

• Experience with ASP.NET MVC / C#

• Agile/Scrum experience
