Title: Axure Prototyper / Creative Technologist
Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: 6+Months

We expect the successful Creative Technologist Candidates to have 5-7 years of development experience working with an integrated team of designers to deliver tangible solutions to clients. The candidate must thrive working in a fast paced, collaborative, team environment.
 
This position reports to the US Service Design Director.
 
Key Responsibilities:  

• Actively engage in initial ideation and concepting, injecting technological/platform considerations and recommendations
• Provide hands on partnership to design team to formulate and refine design concepts and recommendations
• Bring to life concepts, interactions, flows and wireframes into functioning prototypes, ready for presentation to clients
• Assess clients' systems and make recommendations on approach and architecture.
• Establish internal and client understanding of importance and value of design prototyping in standard design process.
• Constantly study new platforms and development languages/methods to help push the boundaries of what is possible.
• Own the discipline within Fjord, driving prototyping and when necessary develop new methods and train others as appropriate.
   

Required Background and Skills:

• An expert level of development experience in:

• Backend languages
• Database architecture and coding
• Web services and APIs (Facebook, Twitter, etc),
• Content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, SiteCore, etc).
• BA or BS at minimum in Software Engineering, Technology or a related field or similar work experience.
• Excellent communication skills and history of working with/within design teams.
• Strong team orientation and collaborative by nature.
• Efficient and flexible in approach.
• Be a storyteller: A criticalelementofall our roles is to deliver insightsaboutpeople and behaviour, verbally and visually, in a way that generatesempathy,emotion, and engagementfrom the client and design team.
• A strategic perspective on the variety of work that we do.Many of our projects involvestrategic thinking based upon the insights gathered from the field.Thus, business, brand, and/or strategic experience are desirable.
• A natural skill to engage with people at a deep level.Whether observing or interviewing customers, or workingwithfellowteammembersand clients, the Creative Technologist should be passionate about representing the human perspective in design and should have skills in bringing this passion to life for the team.
