Experience: five or more years of experience working with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other tools to extract, transform, and load data between primarily Oracle databases. Individuals should also be comfortable working in a collaborative, agile (scrum) environment. Experience with Guidewire software, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server for application lifecycle management is preferred but not required.
Project background:
The client's policy and billing functions are currently handled via an ecosystem of custom applications based on Workers' Compensation Information System (WCIS) and a series of Microsoft .NET-based portals that integrate directly with the WCIS system via PL/SQL and direct database calls. Over the past two years, the company performed an extensive evaluation of vendors in the policy administration and billing market space, and selected Guidewire as the client's vendor of choice. The client is now poised to implement Guidewire's PolicyCenter (PC) and BillingCenter (BC) products, as a replacement for the WCIS system.
Other requirements and expectations for contractors:
1. Work environment: Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. The working environment is generally favorable, with no exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, dust, or other factors.
2. Physical requirements:
- Stand or sit at a work station for the majority of each shift.
- May occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
- Communicate with others; typically through the use of writing, speaking and hearing.
- Use a computer to enter and screen data.
