Position: As400 RPG Developer

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 6 Months.

Max rate : $ 50/hr on C2C all inc. 

 

Job Summary:

The RPG Developer provides system analysis, design, and development of  RPG/Free and SQLRPGLE programs in an IBM iSeries environment utilizing DB2 databases. The developer  will adhere to best practices, standards, measures, and metrics for the Solutions Delivery Department . The successful candidate will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to construct loosely coupled applications utilizing a service  oriented architecture.

 

Qualifications:  

• 5 or more years of programming experience utilizing ILE RPG, to include Free Format, ILE concepts (service programs, procedures, binder language) and Embedded SQL in a business environment.
• Must have 3 years of on-sit experience in US.
• Experience working with DB2 relational databases.
• Experience with iSeries change/release management packages (Turnover preferred).
• Analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs.

• Strong organization skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of timelines and budgets.

 

Responsibilities:

• Analyze designs, develop, implement, document and maintain application systems, working on highly complex work tasks or project assignments.
• Manage tasks, develop to specifications and maintain application code in accordance with the current architecture, development and project management methodologies and      practices.
• Consult with Quality Assurance and the business analysts in the development and execution of test plans.
• Accountable for creation of applicable SDLC artifacts
• Ensure a quality product is delivered through sufficient unit/integration testing and or system testing in coordination with the Quality Assurance team
• Ensure written unit test cases are produced and written unit test results are captured
• Escalate concerns/risks to the Team Lead to collaborate on mitigation and communication strategy
