This position involves working with the development team and other technical teams to develop, test and deploy high availability and redundant web-based and desktop applications deployed in a multi-tier clustered environment.
• Identify software requirements and estimate timelines.
• Ensure a smooth and reliable integration of system components
• Perform Unit Testing on code and work with SQA personnel to ensure software quality.
• Support production applications and troubleshoot bugs.
Java Developer Qualifications:
Candidates need to bring at least 2-3 years of experience participating in the complete software development process from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance. Other expectations include at least a year or two of expertise with the following:
• Object-oriented analysis and design concepts and techniques.
• Java technologies such as J2SE, Swing, JDBC, Java Servlets, JSP
• Application servers such as Tomcat, Jboss, or other
• Web Services (SOAP, RESTful)
• Relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and other related technologies
• JUnit or other related testing frameworks
• Version control experience (i.e. SVN) and build tools (i.e. ANT).
• Knowledge of Data Structures, Design Patterns, Coding Practices, and emerging technologies.
