JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: L3 DB2-DBA
Location: Phoenix, AZ.
Duration: 6-12 months
MANDATORY SKILLS
• Implements and supports new and existing databases
• Monitors DB2 space usage and database performance
• Performs database reorganizations as necessary
• Responsible for capacity, availability, performance and security for all DB2 environments and monitoring the environments for the same on an on-going basis
• Design all databases necessary to complete client requests and provide technical guidance to other members of a project team.
• DB2 security management
• Configure, manage and monitor all DB2 environments on AIX
• Script and automate maintenance and monitoring jobs on AIX environments
• We monitoring the daily scheduled backups through script .If backup failed then we raise this with concern team.
• Support planned and un-planned outages of DB2 environments and scheduled maintenance
• Support IT development, QA and operational teams with activities on DB2
• Responsible for providing strategic direction on the AIX and DB2 environments to support the future needs of the organization
• Perform stats gather activity as necessary
• Import and export of the objects as necessary.
• Capture and analyse the Explain Plain of the queries
• Giving the output of ad-hoc queries as per requested by the users.
• Manage database logins and permissions for users.
Desirable skills
• Assist in the Enterprise Infrastructure strategy, approach, standards and procedures to ensure alignment with WHG standards and strategic technology decisions.
• Provide Disaster Recovery Plan support.
• Participate in an on-call rotation 24X7.
