Essential Functions
· Develop, enhance and maintain tools/applications for a new test automation framework supporting automated functional testing using a combination of off-the-shelf and custom built systems.
· Provide technical leadership for application/tool development – Specifically Java.
· Evaluate business needs/requirements, develop and present technical solutions.
· Define, implement and adhere to processes and standards for implementing test automation.
· Design and execute automated tests for gray-box, and black-box functional validation of Websense products and related components.
· Provide input to management on task duration estimation, technical information, and issue resolution.
· Participate in design reviews and code inspections.
· Provide detailed documentation and training on automation framework/tools/tests developed.
· Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
· 7 years experience in software development/testing, including minimum of 3 years of software/applications development.
· Experience working in a commercial development environment: formal QA, best practices for development, schedules, processes, defect queues, code management, and build environments.
· Good understanding of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC), including Agile SCRUM, TDD software development methodologies, system design and implementation.
· Experience in backend Java application design and development using the following: Eclipse, JUnit, Spring, Struts.
· Experience developing cross-platform (Windows/Linux) software applications.
· Good knowledge and experience in software testing methodologies (white/gray/black-box), test plan development, and test execution involving multiple types of testing (e.g., Functional, System, Integration, Regression, and Performance).
· Experience implementing web services or remote APIs such as: SOAP, REST, RMI, JMS, XML-RPC.
· Knowledgeable in networking technologies: HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP, socket programming, protocols such as DNS, DHCP, and routing.
· Experience with scripting in one of the following: Python, Perl, Tcl/tk, Bash, Javascript.
· Experience working with Database systems (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL).
· Proficient with configuration management/version control applications e.g. Perforce, ClearCase.
· Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Windows client/server, VMware, Linux/Unix, and networking equipment.
