Microsoft Experience:

Client is seeking a resource with Strong Oracle DBA background and implementation/Oracle Database virtualization in a VMware infrastructure. They MUST have Oracle and strong VMWare skills. The manager is seeking someone with considerable experience with General Oracle RDBMS tuning.
The candidate should have a skills /experience background in Oracle Database administration and has moved into working with VMware as well. They will be working closely with VMware, storage, OS, application, database and network teams to recommend, install, configure, optimize, monitor and troubleshoot database functionality and performance across varying load and performance scenarios (e.g. transactional –vs- data warehouse, production –vs- test, etc).
They should have experience with the various ancillary Oracle products. Audit Vault is a plus. Has experience with the Oracle tools and components used to monitor and alarm for database outages and when performance is degraded. Has experience with planning and supporting fault-tolerant and disaster-recoverable configurations, including concepts such as storage replication. They should be able to project future usage and resource needs based on observed performance and resource trends and has knowledge of data security, and any of the Oracle products that may be used to enable or enhance data/database/application security to meet our security requirements.
The contractor selected should posses Enterprise Senior Data Center experience involving systems/network administration in large server farms, the knowledge to set up of new physical/virtual environments, having the ability to perform hardware/software upgrades, knowledge to implement security guidelines, and ability to provide performance tuning to systems. The person will work with the Build/Systems team to provide this functionality and infrastructure system support.
