LINUX/SOLARIS Engineer:
| Targeted Skills & Competencies: | Proven experience in managing software systems, hardware solutions, and/or enterprise servers, as appropriate Experience in supporting corporate migration efforts, and transitions to and from different systems Ability to understand business unit requirements and apply technical solutions which are high-quality and cost-effective |
| Expected Responsibilities: | Develops, implements, and manages standards for corporate software solutions (e.g., Tivoli, Marimba, etc.), hardware (e.g., desktops, notebooks, PDAs, etc.) and servers (Windows and Unix-based) Provides 3rd level support to IT teams Supports migration efforts to new platforms or solutions Provides engineering and technical support to business application development groups Assesses hardware, software, tools, applications, etc., to support business operations |
| Tasks and Responsibilities: | Training will be performed on first shift, but offshift support will be required for the position. Some members will be assigned to non-primary shift schedules. |
| Suggested Experience & Qualifications: | Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience Preferred: external certification in relevant field of expertise (e.g., Microsoft, Blackberry, etc.) |
