Job Title : Linux Administrator
Location : East Elmhurst, NY
Duration : 6 - 12 months Contract
Job description:
We are seeking a Linux System Administrator for a long term contract with a large Government client in Brooklyn.
Very strong experience and in-depth knowledge of installing,administering and maintaining SuSe or RedHat Linux servers
Experience in deploying web based application in a clustering environment.
Experience with installing open source software on Linux systems, such as Apache, Heartbeat.
Experience in monitoring the performance of server based hardware and software. Ability to generate reports and troubleshoot system performance
Create and follow through on change control for any modifications to the organization's software or hardware infrastructure
Familiarity with HP servers. Ability to install Linux OS and updating all the firmware needed to bring the server up to specifications. Ability to automate patching of Linux servers.
Ability to research open source technologies
Excellent interpersonal relations, communications, people skills and a self-starter
