The position will be a coding/programming role with a strong user-interface design component for the Web and Data Service Group.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for following the implementation and maintenance of a standardized development methodology
• Responsible for ensuring quality product delivery by implementing thorough testing techniques.
• Responsible for CSS-based UI design and implementation.
• Responsible for new development and maintenance coding in Ruby on Rails.
• Responsible for possessing and maintaining technical proficiency in the following key technical areas: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, UI design using CSS frameworks (Blueprint, 1140, etc.) , JavaScript frameworks (Prototype, JQuery, etc.), BDD testing frameworks (RSpec, Shoulda, TestUnit)
• Must be willing to work off hours when needed as well supporting a 24x7 on-call rotation (tier 3).

Education and Experience Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of a strong basic technical background based in development organizations.
• 3+ years experience doing user interface-level development for high-volume web-based applications in Ruby on Rails, preferably including use of CSS frameworks.
• Good understanding and experience with object-oriented design.
• Experience coding on multiple projects at a time..
• 3+ years experience with one of various scripting languages (i.e. JavaScript, JQuery, Korn Shell, etc).
• Excellent communication skills both, written and verbal.


Preferred
• Experience with Rails 3.0.
• Experience with Ruby 1.9 and/or Ruby Enterprise Edition.
• 2+ years experience with web server configuration (Apache, IIS).
• 2+ years experience using a web content management system (CMS).
• 2+ years experience with Web Services.
• Comfortable in both, a UNIX and Windows based environment.
