Business Intelligence Consultant

San Diego, CA

Essential Job Duties:
• Participate in the entire lifecycle for Business Intelligence Solution Delivery
• Design and develop ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Design and develop OLAP Cubes using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
• Design and develop End-user visualizations using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS 2008 and R2) and Tableau
• Assist with BI Solution (DBMS, SSIS, SSAS) architecture and performance tuning
• Stay abreast of BI industry best practices and relevant new technologies

Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
• SharePoint workflow development
• Custom .Net development
• Requirements gathering and analysis
• Data mining model development

Minimum Requirements:
• 5+ years developing Business Intelligence solutions
• 3+ years developing solutions using the MS SQL Server 2008 BI Stack
• Solid understanding of the Kimball Method
• SQL Server stored procedures and T-SQL query patterns
• Understanding of dimensional data structures and complex hierarchies
• Basic understanding data visualization practices and methods
• SSAS Cube Architecture and Design
• SSIS Package Design Patterns and Configuration

Preferred Qualifications:
• Tableau dashboarding
• Security implementation in BI solutions, including user access security with Active Directory and Analysis Services Roles
• Agile BI DW development methodologies
• Data Mining within data warehouse
• TDWI -CBIP -Certified Business Intelligence Professional
• Microsoft -MCTS -Database Development or BI Development and Maintenance
• Microsoft -MCITP -Database Administrator, Database Developer, or BI Developer

Education:
• Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field or equivalent work experience.
