Job Title: Sr. Solaris Administrator – 3 positions
Location: Mason, OH
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 20+ months (expected to extend beyond)
Compensation: $40-45/hr
Work Shift: 7:00am – 7:00pm
Customer Specific:
Ø Solaris 9 & 10 system administration, installation and configuration.
Ø Solaris zones administration and trouble shooting.
Ø Good Understanding of trouble shooting & Solaris Concepts
Ø Exposure on Handling Mid/High ends Solaris Server.
Ø Expert level knowledge on VERITAS volume manager and Solaris volume manager.
Ø Experience in managing large infrastructure, Sun Storage SUN3310 disc cabinet
Ø Experience in writing Shell or Perl script.
Ø Solaris Containers, E10K/E15K Domains,
Ø Expert level knowledge of Sun Clusters/ VERITAS Clusters,
Ø Experience on Jumpstart installation/Trouble shooting.
Ø Capability to plan and execute UNIX Security.
Ø Strong concepts of networking like TCP / IP
Ø Carries out Sun Solaris & Solaris OS administration activities including Health checks, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Query and Service Level Management activities;
Ø Responds to enquiries and is able to deal effectively with a broad range of issues.
Ø Assist team in complex technical issues.
Ø Supervises and gives instruction to less experienced colleagues in all aspects of current and correct operational practice.
Ø Responds to enquiries and is able to deal effectively with a broad range of problems of moderate complexity
Ø Assists in the analysis of incidents and problems to show trends and potential problem areas, so that action can be taken to minimize the occurrence of incidents and to improve the process of problem reporting, analysis and clearance.
Ø Live Migration and Virtual Crash recovery
Ø Recovery of system from faulty software install
Ø Kernel tuning as per Application requirement
Ø Configuring new application in cluster/Crash recovery
Ø Crash recovery from backup/Validate Restore
Ø Analyzing the system and fine tuning for optimal performance
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
• Good understanding of Operating System infrastructures (And / Or relevant Application specific infrastructure as appropriate)
• Experience of client/server and enterprise environments
• Ability to structure and draft technical documentation
• ITIL Certified or a strong working knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management disciplines
• Customer relationship development and influencing skills
• Ability to work under pressure and remain decisive.
• Should be able to train junior team members
• Having SUN certification will be an added advantage
• Should have relevant experience in SUN server management above 6 years
