- Focus is Websphere Administration

- IBM MQ Series experience

- Supporting multiple environments on the Internal side

- Long term position
responsible for maintaining build and deployment automation, to support Java applications in distributed environments. Strong technologist with good understanding of application development and server administration (preferably with strong expertise in J2EE deployments on IBM Websphere Application Server). Takes full ownership on all aspect of version control, build/deployment automation and release management. Provides support in applying engineering and analytical disciplines to identify, document and verify the functional, performance and physical characteristics of systems. Assists with the Server Administration and Environment management of all Development and Test environments. Demonstrates experience with continuous integration (CI) practices, principles and at least one CI tool. Good understanding of Performance Engineering.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Combined experience of 3+ years as a configuration management specialist / build engineer / server administrator and performance tester
• Hands on experience with software deployments / configuration in IBM Webshpere Application and MQ Servers
• Capable of troubleshooting configuration and deployment issues in complex IBM WAS and MQ infrastructures
• Knowledge of software Configuration Management and prior experience with the software development life cycle
• Hands-on experience with CM tools (ClearCase preferred), including branching, tagging, issue resolution, delivery management, build management
• Strong scripting and automation skills. Experience with creating complex build, release and deployment automation
• Good understanding of Performance Engineering
• Motivated, independent individual, who is driven by learning new technology, and is not afraid of taking on challenges
Required experience:
• A bachelor degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent work experience
• Required - At least five (3) years of practical experience in configuration and release management
• Experienced developing programming and scripting languages to automate software builds and integrate with configuration management tools
• Familiar with software development and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server and MQ administration
• Prior experience with deployments, configuration and troubleshooting of J2EE applications (preferably on IBM Webshpere Application Server)
• Proficient in analyzing and testing application performance in various architectures.
Required Technical Expertise:
- 3 years Java / J2EE configuration and deployment management
- 3 years administration and configuration in IBM WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere MQ
- 3 years build scripting and automation
- 1 year performance engineering
Desired Technical Expertise:
- 3 years Ant / Python / Jython / Shell scripting
- 2 years build integration with Hudson, Jenkins, Cobertura, Nexus/Maven (or similar)
- 2 years source control software (ClearCase or similar)
- 1 year Jprobe, LoadRunner, QTP or similar
Delivers Blue2 Claims Admin DF and supports Early Adpoter Plans with 13.5 release
