Position Description:
An intermediate level database engineer is required to work in the IT team that supports the Risk Management department responsible for monitoring, measuring and communicating risks generated by Morgan Stanley's business lines.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience administering all physical aspects of multiple large-scale (multi-terabyte) relational and star schema databases on a well recognized RDBMS platform (DB2 UDB, Oracle etc.).
Responsibilities include working with developers to design and implement databases, trouble-shooting, performance analysis/tuning, version upgrades, maintenance and communication of database policies and standards.
Skill's:
- 5+ years of DB2/UDB relational database administration experience
- DB2 administration knowledge on DB2 on multi-host DPF
- Ability to analyze explain outputs and suggest enhancements to SQL
- Performance
- Ability to write scripts in shell and Perl to automate database analysis
- tasks
- Ability to do trend analysis and future capacity planning
- A team player with the ability to work in a demanding environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent analytical ability
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
