• How to layout 3 col / 2 rows without using tables? – [will involve left-floats, Divs]

• Benefit of inline styles vs linked to CSS file? 

• How would you troubleshoot CSS problems? [Firebug / Chrome plugin]

You want to find an element/control on the page by code. [Document.getelementbyID([magicstring]) or Jquery: $("[elementid]"). Wrong: document.form.[elementid]

• What's the life cycle of an MVC request? [request comes in, looks up route to determine resource, calls requested controller & action]

• What are routes & how use them? [Calling resources, not file names. Translates URL into calls to controllers & views]

• Where will MVC look for views by default [under views for controller name / action name]

• How do you restrict access to action or controller in MVC? [create role provider, put attribute on controller or action method. –There are no page loads in MVC.]

• Tasked with building the UI down to the controller level. Person doing model & data tier isn't ready. How can you move forward?

• Page life cycle with JQuery: if you have 3 functions on your page, what order do they run in? [can't tell – asynchronous]

 

The successful candidate will have 7+ years web development experience which includes the programming/ development of web applications along with the following: 

 

Leads the development and implementation of highly complex internet and intranet applications on one or more diverse platforms. Uses advanced knowledge of web technologies, including .NET framework 4.0, C#, ASP.NET, AJAX, Java Script, HTML, XML, Webservices, WCF, WPF. Evaluates systems specifications for client area web site requirements and determines and implements the most efficient and cost effective software/package solution. Researches and tracks new web technologies, develops service applications, and analyzes business requirements as they pertain to web-based systems. Responsible for system quality assurance and consistency with installation and security policy and standards. May provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff. 

 Required Experience: 

 •       Demonstrated solid application development skills utilizing .NET framework 4.0, C#, ASP.NET, AJAX, Java Script, HTML, XML, Webservices, WCF, WPF, JQuery, JIRA.

•       Knowledge of  MVVM and MVC. 

•       7+ years database experience with TSQL (SQL Server) and PLSQL/Oracle 

•       Expert knowledge of application and web security 

•       Experience in designing UML Models, ERD Diagrams according to internal standards and Document procedures

•       Experience with high availability high-volume Web applications 

•       Experience in using  WebTest & NUNIT to automate unit testing

•       5+ years background in OO design and programming, knowledge of UML and modern software engineering practices 

•       Experience in leveraging tools such as Redgate Ant, CodeXpert and internal frameworks

•       Used formal development methodologies such as SDLC (creating specifications, technology pilots, analyzing application performance etc) 

•       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 

•       Strong interpersonal and written skills and organization 

•       Ability to interact with technical work group and business partners in a positive and productive way in order to accomplish project goals 

•       Keen interest in creating cost-effective yet durable and elegant design solutions in a timely fashion and ability to continuously enhance efficiency of a development process
