Role: Database developer
Location: Bellevue, WA
Duration: 6+ months
POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will provide database development expertise for a critical group within the organization. The individual will be responsible for database-related aspects of the software development life cycle including analysis, design, coding and debugging, unit-testing, and maintenance. The individual will demonstrate proficiency in developing custom database queries of varying complexity, which scale effectively in a high-throughput, OLTP environment. This candidate should also have hands-on experience in Java and ORM preferably Hibernate.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related experience
- 5-7 years of experience of database design and development with a relational database management system such as Oracle, MS SQL Server
- 2-3 years' experience with Java and 2 -3 years' experience with Perl (or a comparable scripting language)
- Solid understanding of fundamental relational database concepts
- Working knowledge of ORM technologies preferably Hibernate
- Competence in employing sound software engineering practices
- Experience writing tools to manage database migration to support multiple versions is a plus.
