Applications Developer
Overall Purpose
Responsible for the performance of any/all functions involved in the development
and/or maintenance of new or existing applications

Role and responsibilities:

 Use programming language and technology, writes code, completes programming
and documentation, and performs testing and debugging of applications
Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements
and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer
programs

Education :

High school diploma required
Typically Bachelors degree in CS or related field
4 - 8 years experience with software product development, architecture and
engineering

Required skills:

PL/SQL, PowerBuilder / Visual basic / C++/Java, Oracle DB, Unix
Shell Scripting, Sybase
Experience with JSP, Servlets, EJB, J2EE, XML
OS Development environment: Windows, Unix, Web 2.0 Development
components
Exposure to telecom network fundamentals, especially wireless networks
Project Mgmt experience is a plus

Additional detail from business unit -
Position to support data extraction and analysis for Mobility projects. Day to day responsibilities includes: Develop shell scripts to process large volume of data Develop shell scripts embedded with SQL to retrieve data from DBs Develop scripts to support ad hoc requests Conduct extensive data quality reviews Develop, maintain or modify existing c/c++ and/or shell scripts/process Prepare Excel-Worksheet/PowerPoint reports Excellent verbal and written communication Ability to collaborate with an extended team Education: MS in Computer Science preferably US university Skill set: UNIX programming- shell, awk, perl
