Role Summary:

The Systems Analyst takes an active role with functional specification definition activities in support of a technical delivery.  Functionality delivered supports all Client Group Insurance products and business functions as well as enterprise portfolio delivery.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Analyzes system operation processes and requirements; defines system process, data requirements and flows, service interfaces, and user interface requirements to meet the defined business requirements (Must be able to write requirements).  

·         Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements. 

·         Documents solution requirements using process flows, functional specifications, data/entity flow diagrams, story boards, User Interface specifications, and requirements traceability matrix.

·         Highly accountable for working closely and collaboratively with Business Analysts, Enterprise and System Architects, Data Modelers and Architects, Designers, Developers and Quality Assurance to clearly articulate specifications, business/system scenarios, and approaches for solving based on analysis. 

·         Accountable for ensuring QA organization is adequately prepared to test new functional components and the associated requirements.

·         Strictly follows and meets designated governance gates, artifact standards and delivery timelines.

·         Ability to think and act strategically with a big view of the end-to-end solution requirements.

·         Demonstrated success in working with 3^rd party vendors in defining user interfaces, data exchanges, and error handling.

·         Highly accountable for understanding established architectural decisions, Client technical standards, governance processes, and defined analysis methodologies.

Scope and Dimensions:

·         Reports to the Integrated Delivery Lead for requirements.

·         Interacts with Business Analysts, Business Partners, Project Managers, Enterprise, Data, and System Architects, Designers, Developers, and Quality Assurance as well as 3^rd party vendors.

Qualifications:

·         7+ years of successful delivery of system analysis including defining functional requirements, functional specifications for technical components, as well as preparing activity, sequence and data flow diagrams.

·         Demonstrated history of strong communication and collaboration abilities in a highly matrixed environment.

·         Strong Planning abilities - demonstrated history of setting milestone dates for a group of project tasks and ensuring their completion.

·         Degree in Information Science and Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline is highly desirable.

·         Knowledge of and analysis experience in the following technologies:

o   Service Orientated Architecture patterns/approaches.

o   Books of records and data access methods (e.g., web services, SQL, stored procedures, etc.)

o   JAVA Development Environment

o   UI Design, Portals and Portlets

·         Other skills/attributes:
