Duration: 6-9 Months

1.  Required Education:      Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

2.  Desired Education:        Masters degree

3.  Experience Level:          2-6 years as a DBA in a DB2 RDBMS

 Responsibilities:

1.     Perform advanced database administration tasks, including but not limited to:

·  Complex Database Recovery

·  Provide Problem resolution and Document solution

·  Root Cause analysis of RDBMS issues

·  Complex Problem Determination (RDBMS vendor interface)

·  Advanced system analysis

·  Resource / Capacity planning for customers

·  Release / Feature recommendation for customers

·  T&M estimates

·  Advanced customer mentoring

·  Documentation of tasks for assignment to appropriate work groups

2.     Complete all required event ticket documentation.

3.     Respond appropriately to event tickets with expediency required to meet service level agreements.

4.     Achieve expert level of competance in one RDBMS discipline.

5.     Maintain a high level of knowledge in the capability of the monitor software (Patrol / directVIEW)

6.     Maintain broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expertise.

7.     Provide expert level troubleshooting skill for the support RDBMS and OS environments.

8.     Engineer database administration tasks and participate in ongoing process improvement.

9.     Create ad-hoc customer reports as requested; where indicated, engineer ongoing automation.

10.  Take requested out-of-scope tasks to CRM for handling.
