| Job Description: | | Senior Server Side Java Engineer
JDM Program. This is the nexgen version of DDM. Both DDM and JDM Pro relate to how digital flight maps are loaded into the cockpit of commercial airliners. Basically how the data goes from their data repository (Oracle) and is delivered to the cockpit. Flight maps are constantly being updated and the data needs to be transformed, parsed, and sent through several systems before it gets on the plane.

Jeppesen is seeking a well rounded and motivated Server Side Software Engineer with Smart GWT experience to work on a web-based data delivery system that is used to send software to a variety of different airplanes and airplane systems.
The data delivery system is a modern multi-tiered web based application using open source software and the latest in Microsoft technologies. The Software Engineer will develop FAA operationally approved software and apply state of the art high security solutions for web based delivery of mission critical data to aircraft.
The Software Engineer will participate and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle using a RUP-based methodology. The Software Engineer will contribute to requirements development, project schedules with estimates, system analysis, design, code development, code reviews and testing. Infrequent travel, primarily to Seattle, might be required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Required: Java (7 years), SOAP, OOA/D, Smart GWT, Eclipse
Strongly desired: Oracle, or PostgreSQL, (JBoss or Tomcat or Weblogic), Hibernate, Spring
Helpful: Servlets, Maven, Eclipse RCP framework, TCP/IP, HTTP |
