Position: Linux/System Developer
Location: Houston, TX
Description:
- 5+ years' experience in systems support/administration in a large environment
- Strong Linux OS experience (3+ years in depth real world experience)
- Strong shell scripting experience. Experience of manipulating desired tasks and outcomes via custom (bash, csh, ksh, etc) scripts.
- Proven track record of Linux server/desktop builds, support and deployment.
- Creation of custom Linux builds.
- RPM building, spec file creation
- Knowledge of the Linux Boot/Build process (E.g. understanding of Anaconda)
- Experience in developing automated kickstart/builds of Linux systems.
- Experience in supporting, administering, and deploying Windows servers/desktops
- MySQL database skills (usage and commands)
- Experience in PHP, C++, Ruby, or other programming language development.
- Source code management experience.
- Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
Desired Skills:
- Strong Linux OS experience (Linux and Windows) 5 years in depth real world experience.
- Linux compute clusters, with experience in job schedulers such as: SGE, LSF, PBS, etc.
- Proven track record of large compute cluster builds, support and deployment
- Skills in deploying, supporting, and configuring high performance mass storage devices (NAS, SAN, iSCSI, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience in programming language development
- Expertise in Web Development technologies
- Oil & Gas experience at major or super major company
