Unix-SAS System Admin
Location: Peapack, NJ
Duration: 1 year+ contract
System Admin responsible for administrating, supporting, troubleshooting and deploying application and SAS code on Unix (Solaris) platform.
Candidate must have IT implementation experience with large, global health science applications.
Qualifications:
Technical skills:
• Strong Unix System management experience (10 + years) in pharmaceutical industry to support clinical trial operations including monitoring and management of file systems, cron jobs, UC4, large file systems and various unix system processes.
• Strong Unix Scripting skills required (5-7 years) in various shells
• Experience with installing and upgrading SAS versions and troubleshooting SAS Code.
• Experience with Apache, Perl, Javascript and RCS.
• Good knowledge on optimizing the Solaris 9/10 server configurations.
• Experience with large, global health science applications will be considered
• Trend and impact analysis to recommend remediation/improvements based on their implications on IT maintenance and business use.
• Understanding of managing GxP and regulated systems.
• Good knowledge about application performance monitoring and tuning using standard tools such as SAR, HP OpenView, SiteScope etc.
Soft skills:
• Superb analytical skills in problem resolution, fact/data seeking, hands-on research, attention to details and making knowledgeable decisions in the normal as well as urgent/critical situations.
• Dedicated and committed with a track record of business deliveries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in articulating technical content to both technical and non technical audience.
• Independent and self driven with little supervision and guidance in assuming the responsibilities.
• Excellent vendor engagement and customer service skills with on-call availability
