Job Description:
Unix System Administrator, to manage a large Enterprise server environment running Linux and Solaris. The desired candidate should be able to perform UNIX administration tasks with minimum supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
================
• Responsible for supporting Linux & UNIX and SAN systems .
• Provide recommendations and implement system tuning and configuration change
• Install OS, configure and harden of Linux and UNIX systems.
• Monitor system logs and performance and identify/resolve problems proactively.
• Deploy new systems, enhancements, and upgrades as directed by the UNIX Managed Services team.
• Create, maintain and update system documentation.
• Interact with customers and vendors to troubleshoot existing network or system problems
Required Skills
===============
• Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education
• Minimum 4+ years of UNIX System Administration experience with Solaris and Red Hat Linux
• Troubleshooting and performance monitoring skills at a high level
• ZFS,Veritas Volume Manager, LVM (Logical Volume Management)
• Solaris zone/container management
• VERITAS Cluster Server administration
• Installation and configuration of I/O multi-pathing software (Power Path and Device Map per)
• Server performance monitoring and tuning
• Working knowledge of Shell or Perl script programming skills
• SCSA or RHCE certification a plus
• Experience with VMware ESX, Oracle VM (XEN Hypervisor) a plus
• Ability to work under pressure, multiple deadlines and minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written skills, organization, project prioritization, and time management skills
