Role: Application Engineer
Location: Philadelphia, PA
· 5+ years of systems engineering, with a bias towards Unix/Linux environments
· Technical support experience in Web/Java/C++/Linux type applications, either as a system administrator, developer, or QA engineer
· Expertise with of Unix/Linux environments required, particularly with respect to virtual/VMWare environments high performance computing
· Experience with 3rd party platform as a service providers/service offerings is a plus
· Extensive knowledge of web software architecture and frameworks
· Scripting and/or development background: develops software in several modern languages (Ruby, bash, Python, Perl, etc.)
· Experience with git/svn/cvs and software deployment tools (Capistrano, Fabric, Func)
· Familiarity with Nagios, OP5, Splunk, or DynaTrace a plus
· Excellent troubleshooting skills
· Solid communications skills
· Good understanding of Agile processes (i.e., use of Jira queues)
· Solid understanding of deployment environments and processes/frameworks/methodologies
· “Customer-first” mentality
· Ability to work with/in teams in a dynamic organizational environment
