Determine viability of automated data sources for the purposes of Performance and Ridership reporting. Including:
Determine minimum data elements required for performance reporting on buses and subways. Match these requirements with the available data and document deficiencies.
Evaluate completeness of automated data, including matching data to the published schedules and ensuring that missing data is accounted for
Determine if alternative sources of data are available for computing real time data
Integrate disparate sources of data into single architecture for computing real time performance. Data sources and formats include:
Data sources: ATS-A signal data, I-TRAC train tracking data, CBTC signal data, Programmable Logic Circuit (PLC) signal data, Bus Time AVL data, Bus and Subway schedule data, UTS pullout data, STARS incident data, Track Flagging data, I-SIM B signal data
Data formats – Individual should understand and be able to parse and process data in the following formats:
CSV
JSON
XML
Proto Buffer
Develop realtime performance monitoring application which includes providing real time reports via a web based interface which will involve use of the following tools and programming languages:
BIRT Report Server
Python
JavaScript
C++
SQL Development (Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB)
Ensure application performance and scalability will support full agency deployment across entire network, including mobile devices
Integrate the location data sources listed above with MetroCard AFC data and Network Model to determine the following ridership data:
Lead Loads on buses
Stop level boardings and alightings on buses
Station level boardings, alightings and transfers at stations
Provide output of performance monitoring and ridership analysis to internal and external clients in industry standard formats including formats compatible with mobile app development
Provide documentation that satisfies the full system development life cycle including:
Data standards and naming convention
