Description of Job Duties

We are seeking a highly motivated, hard-working individual for our complex server environment.   The candidate should have 5-7 years experience and will possess extensive knowledge of and experience with Symantec NetBackup, Windows Server 2003/2008, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and related Microsoft Windows technologies. Systems administration experience of multiple servers and operating systems in an enterprise environment is a must. 

This position is focused on the support and administration of our Symantec NetBackup environment, Microsoft Exchange system, Active Directory and other Systems Infrastructure servers.  The candidate must have experience with designing, implementing and supporting NetBackup in a multi-site environment located in various geographic locations. Experience with virtualization technologies is a requisite skill.

The administrator will be a key resource on various projects and initiatives, and will provide recommendations and suggestions as required for the successful implementation of IT systems and services.

The specialist will also provide assistance and backup support for other technical staff members as required and act as a resource to resolve 2nd and 3rd tier support calls.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

•         5-7 years IT experience with MS Windows environments;

•         Expert knowledge of Windows Infrastructure Architecture;

•         Symantec NetBackup Administration, including VMware, Oracle/SQL and various other agent backups, deduplication, replication in multiple sites;

•         Administration of Active Directory;

•         Knowledge of Windows security methods and models;

•         Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including: DNS, TCP/IP;

•         Knowledge of DNS, DHCP & WINS administration;

•         Server virtualization experience;

•         Knowledge of Dell midrange server architectures;

•         Has developed effective working relationships with employees, peers, and management;

•         Excellent time management, verbal/written communication and organizational skills;

Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

•         Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field;

•         Windows 2003/2008 MCSE Certifications;

•         Linux/Unix Server Administration experience;

•         VMWARE ESX Server Administration;

•         Storage Area Networking experience;

•         Oracle RMAN experience;

•         Visual Basic, Powershell, and/or PERL scripting experience;
