Position Title: Lead QA Test Engineer
Location: San Francisco, CA
Description
Work collaboratively as part of the development team with product managers, software engineers and architects to define and execute tests throughout the project lifecycle. Define, implement and execute the functional, regression and acceptance test strategy on highly iterative and collaborative projects of medium to high complexity in an Agile environment. Test planning, test automation, test environment setup/teardown, exploratory and manual testing, defect logging and verification. Define, create and maintain test data as required. Work as a project team member to jointly deliver high quality business solutions consistent with project objectives and constraints. Engage with team members to build out a dynamic and productive development organization and continuously improve practices and methodology. Provide guidance to other test engineers. Continuously re-evaluate the test strategy to adjust for new information, changing risks, shifting priorities and schedules.
Qualifications
Education: Master's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field and 3 years experience in job offered, quality assurance engineering, software development/testing, automation engineering or related occupations. As an alternative, will accept Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field followed by 5 years of progressive, professional experience in quality assurance engineering, software development/testing, automation engineering or related occupations. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
Education and/or Experience must include:
Automated functional testing
Software development lifecycle principles, specifically Agile development methodology including SCRUM, TDD and pair programming
Programming test suites with RUBY, Selenium or similar test automation languages
Testing software developed using Service Oriented Architecture using tools like SOAP UI or Cucumber
Queuing technology tools like MQ Explorer
Creating and using Virtual Machine environments to build and test suites
J2EE architectural frameworks, specifically: MVC, Spring, Hibernate
Working across teams with other testers and mentoring junior team members
Influencing and executing improvements to process and technology within the organization
