Location: Milwaukee(WI)
Duration: 6months.
Job Description:
· The individual will function as the primary subject matter expert for Sybase database administration service operations.
· This involves performing incident and problem resolution, standard service requests, infrastructure monitoring and alert response, and consultation with application support and development staff.
· The individual will be part of a 24x7 on call rotation.
· Deep experience in Sybase database performance tuning techniques .
· Ability to identify and correct gaps in standard operation procedures and checklists.
· Competency in ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Knowledge and Change Management.
· Competency in Root Cause Analysis and Cause Mapping Coaching other database administration team members toward a functional understanding of Sybase databases.
· Ability to assess varying types of incidents and determine appropriate subject matter experts to involve when necessary.
· Basic scripting knowledge: SQL, Unix shell, Perl Basic awareness of other infrastructure technologies for example, Web sphere.
· Competency with MS SQL Server and related BI Suite software
