Job Description:
Seeking an energetic Release Manager to help a growing software development organization execute a mature and repeatable production release process.
This role will own the Release Management process which includes scheduling, coordinating and management of production releases and deployments for multiple applications across our development team.
These include major releases and patches, with any combination of hardwae, infrastructure, operating system, platform and code updates. This role is responsible for overseeing the executin of production releases and deployments,
as well as extablishing and improving operational processes to ensure successful releases.
You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for the progression of code and configuration of infrastructure in production environments.
You will collaborate with all participants in software development projects including business stakeholders, project managers, infrastructure & hardware teams, software developers and testers to ensure each release has a clear, executable and acheivable plan.
You will collaborate with project managers to maintain a release calendar that ensure key resource availability.
You will also work with business and IT managers to implement and improve repeatable production releases.

Role and Responsibilities
* Act as gatekeeper to help ensure solution production readiness
* Collaborate with Project Management to ensure projects have an acheivable production release & deployment plan, and to be primary lead in the execution of that plan
* Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
* Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
* Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates
* Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
* Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
* Produce Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans
* Report upcoming release schedule, issues and risks, and status of executed releases
* Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
* Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
* Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
* Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
* 2-5 years of previous release and/or project management experience
* Solid understanding of project management principles
* 8-10 years of experience in information systems development and operations
* Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills, and written and verbal commnucation skills

The following qualifications are a plus
* Experience delivering software or products for the healthcare industry
* Experience with deliveringa broad mix of software products, including web applications, desktop applications, APIs and platforms.
* Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team (Java, Ruby/Rails, MySQL, MongoDB).
