Microsoft Excel Macro VBA Developer
Microsoft Excel macro development assistance to enhance and update a macro enabled spreadsheet to do advanced financial calculations. The macro developer will work with AITS staff to deliver enhancements to the current system and modifications to allow the MS Excel spreadsheet to function on 64 bit Windows platforms running MS Excel 2013.
AITS will provide the existing macro enabled Excel spreadsheet that runs on 32 bit Windows
Systems and MS Excel 2010, organization, requirement concepts for the enhancements, and
development and test environments and look to the macro developer to provide code modifications
and enhancements to add needed functionality and the ability to run on current hardware and software.
The macro developer will then deliver the initial code and modifications that AITS will take and implement into the cash flow system
.
Initial budget for this project is up to 100 hours of consulting assistance over a multi-week
period. As such, AITS is willing to work with macro developer who is remotely located and able
to work on this project part-time. Therefore, travel and onsite presence is not required for this
project and the rates for this engagement should fall in Pricing Level 1 due to the length of the
engagement.
The skills for this position are a subset of both the Application Developer and Technical
Analyst positions. As such, AITS will accept consultants for this request in either of these positions and rate ranges. All content delivered will be the property and copyright of the University of Illinois. This position is available immediately.
Mandatory skills
•Experienced with Microsoft Excel versions 2010 and 2013
•Experienced in creating, debugging, and modification of MS Excel macros
•Experience utilizing and optimizing Solver add-in for MS Excel
•Experience with designing, debugging, and modification of VBA code
•Experience with databases and an extensive skill set for design, modification, and optimization
•Able to lead working or design sessions with project team members and customers
to gather requirements and review designs
•Strong verbal and written communications skills
Preferred skills
•Experience with Oracle databases
•Experienced with financial analysis design techniques and principles
•Experience with Linear Optimization
Bonus skills
• General understanding or past experience with IT within a university setting
