Formal Job Description:

UI Visual Designer

Responsibilities

·         Collaborate with senior design peers to conceptualize, define and deliver Visual User Interface Assets

·         Create visual interface assets, templates and libraries with an eye for elegant, consistent and harmonious compositions

·         Provide considerations for how the parts of a UI System, support the whole

·         Rapidly iterate Visual UI Elements based on feedback, constraints and organizational priorities

·         Proactively gather and generate resources exploring different strategies for color scheme design, page layout, iconography, transitions, imagery, branding and typography

·         Conceptualize and design visual treatments for prescribed interactional patterns

·         Create detailed design specification documents for consumption by design peers, technical writers, developers and project sponsors

·         Assist with documentation efforts utilizing Photoshop, Word, Axure and HTML/CSS

·         Develop presentations and articulate design rationale to designers and non-designer alike (Please, no rock star attitudes)

Requirements

·         Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art, Interaction Design or Human Computer Interaction. (Those holding Associate's degree with strong portfolios and demonstrated passion will be considered)

·         2+ years of professional experience in Visual UI Design for Web Applications

·         A portfolio of UI Visual Design work demonstrating innovation, elegance and attention to detail

·         Fluency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, experience with Axure 7.0 Pro a Plus

·         Familiarity with advantages and drawbacks of common UI Style Guides, Pattern Libraries and Development Frameworks. (EX: Bootstrap, Quince, jQuery UI, PrimeFaces, Foundations)

·         Excellent visual design skills with clear understanding of differences between UX and UI Design

·         General knowledge of Usability Principles and Interaction Design processes

·         General knowledge of best-practices for enterprise web and mobile application design

·         Ability to articulate design rationale in daily design reviews with peers and non-designers

·         Ability to own your work as an empowered collaborator and design peer

·         Demonstrated passion for UI Visual Design
