Dev Ops/ Production Support Specialist
Technical Environment/Skills needed: Not everything is needed.
• Networking/Development Environment support
• VMWare
• Linux
• Windows
• Tomcat
• Apache
• IIS
• Java Logs
• Powershell Scripting
• Perl Scripting
• Networking/DB experience (Oracle/SQL Server)
 
Responsibilities:
• Provide daily administration of core banking applications
• Monitor and maintain applications per defined availability guidelines
• Support and maintain configuration management for various applications
• Research and evaluate alternative solutions, and recommend the most efficient and cost effective solution
• Identify and resolve a broad range of problems that occur in production applications
• Serve as part of the Infrastructure Services Team in developing and implementing next generation banking systems architecture
• Support the backup and recovery strategy for various applications
• Proactively support capacity planning and disaster recovery aspects
• Create and maintain policies and procedures relevant for team and other IT areas
• Understand supported businesses and communicate in common terms
• Develop system administration standards and procedures to maintain consistent practices
• Provide direction and guidance to other systems analysts and IT team members
• Work with Client Services, Project Management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes (i.e. new, enhancements, or maintenance) for diverse development platforms, computing environments (i.e. host based, distributed systems, client server), software, hardware, technologies and tools
 
Experience & Qualifications:
• 5-7 years in an IT role.
• 3-5 years in a technical support role.
• Some background in software development preferred
• Proficient at creating support documentation.
• Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills.
 
Education and/or Certifications:
• Four-year degree in related discipline.
• Continued training and study in Technology and Business Leadership.
• Technical training on UNIX, Windows platform design and support
