Title: Sr. Vertica Developers
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Employment: 6+ Months Contract
Total Experience Required: 8- 10 Year
Responsibilities
- Work with clients engineering teams to design & build applications/tools/Frameworks on HP Vertica platform
- Define and champion best practices i.e. what works & what doesn't work
- Proactive tuning and maintenance of the application
- Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack - hardware, software & application
Skills/ Qualifications:
Primary:
- 8+ years industry experience administering/developing databases (Oracle, Teradata or Vertica)
- Sound Knowledge of Vertica Architecture
- Hands-on implementation with at-least two E2E Vertica Implementations
- Experience in Performance Tuning in Vertica which includes creation of projection, partition swapping etc.
- Experience in Enterprise Data Mart and/or Operational Data Mart in HP Vertica
- Solid knowledge of PL/SQL
- Sound Knowledge of BI and Analytics; experience in language like Python and Java is a plus
Secondary:
- Efficiently manage priorities and organize project deliveries & tasks in an agile and demanding environment involving cross-functional team & multi-vendor
- Be technically adept to understand design, validate estimates and exhibit technical smartness to clients
- Build excellent rapports with client through effective communications and self-driven innovative solutions to client's pain point
