Job Title: Biztalk Developer
Location: Raleigh, NC
Duration: 6 Months

The Biztalk Developer analyzes, designs, codes, debugs, and documents Biztalk based solutions, including interface components, web services, graphical screens, reports and data objects/services.  Participate in all phases of the software development cycle.  The developer is responsible for software engineering for new and existing products and works with the entire SOA Center Team to ensure development conforms to performance optimization and interoperability standards and requirements. Working with other SOA Center staff, this individual will:
 
Plan: Assist solution architects in translating requirements into technical specifications and data models for all assigned SOA projects and work efforts.  Create enterprise development standards for SOA services.  Consult with IT staff on incorporating new technology standards into future projects. 
Implement: Design, code, test, and implement complex SOA-based solutions; develop appropriate documentation according to established standards for all assigned SOA projects and work efforts. 
Track: Periodically meet with the project team to assess project requirements and the impact of change requests on project delivery timeline for all assigned SOA projects. 
Maintain: Plan, schedule, and conduct decision support systems tests; monitor test results, and take required corrective action for all assigned SOA projects.
Support:  Work with the NCDOT Helpdesk, Web services Support and Development to provide 3rd tier support when issues cannot be resolved at a lower level.  Work with DOT Operations & EPS group to triage & maintain solutions when issues occur.  Provide technical direction, training and knowledge transfer to other developers; coordinate/conduct structured walkthroughs and formal code reviews for developer's adherence to current coding standards.  Provide reports on project development status to the Project Manager and SOA Center Leads on a regular and timely basis
Provide technical consultation in new SOA based systems development, and enhancement of existing systems for other DOT development teams; Aid in systems development planning and monitoring.

Experience in developing SOA-based enterprise solutions using: BizTalk Required 5 Years
Experience in developing XML Schemas and Namespaces Required 5 Years
Extensive knowledge and fluent in developing WCF (WSI-compliant) Web Services Required 
Experience in developing BizTalk Orchestrations and Itineraries Required 
Experience in developing business rules and invocation of business rules from web services Required 
Strong knowledge and understanding of web services design and development patterns Required 
Knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server 2008, 2012) and data extraction tools (PL/SQL) Required 
Understanding of and some experience with SQL Server SSIS, MDS, DQS Required 
Understanding of data modeling and entity relationship models Required 
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Required 
Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills Required 
Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs Required 
Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the software engineering team's knowledge of and concern for custom Required 
Education: BA or BS in Computer Science. Desired 
5 years SOA based development experience across a combination of platforms which include Biz Talk, Rules Engines and Data Management platforms Desired
