Job Title: Business Systems Analyst
Location: NYC
Duration: 12 Months
F2F interview (Local Candidates Preferred)
Business Analyst position:
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Senior Business System Analyst on similar complex legacy systems and workflow development projects with expertise in Agile, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and must have a certain level of business acumen coupled with technical knowledge.
Ability to receive and understand the business needs from management, solicit enhancement requirements from the users, and convert the requests from both into a workable solution to present to technology staff – able to translate business needs into functional requirements.
Ability to query large volumes of raw data using SQL/Select statements or other tools, analyze the results in order to determine production issues, create Choice Lists Table, and determining other useful information for IT.
Experience in Business Intelligence (BI) and the ability to take data from internal systems and external sources, prepare it for analysis, transform it into meaningful and actionable information and develop and run queries against the data, create user friendly reports/dashboards/data visualization to help executives, business managers and other user make more informed business decisions.
Ability to create clear and concise documentation that supports NYCERS business requirements and standard documentation format, and be able to prepare BRDs/FRDs, Use Cases, requirements specifications, and Process Improvement Flow Charts.
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, writing, analytical, problem solving, and information gathering skills along with fundamental technique troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to facilitate JAD sessions and one-on-one meetings with User(s), work independently on strategic issues with stakeholders, effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
Must be able to define test scenarios and conditions, create test plans and facilitates testing according to plan in support of UAT.
Proficiency in use of MS Office especially MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Visio.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Legacy Mainframe Systems.
Experience with Workflow development
Experience in Public Pension Systems.
Experience with SQL
Experience in Data Modeling
Understands COBOL
Experience in handling production issues.
10 Years of BA experience
