Title: Systems Analyst

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration:  9+ months

 

Technical Requirements

  • Excellent written technical documentation experience
  • Experience developing workflows, Forms reports and metadata
  • Experience using SQL server, XML and HTML/JavaScript or equivalent tools

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day support and maintenance of critical business applications (on premise and/or hosted solutions) and related systems including troubleshooting and resolving system-related production issues, identifying root cause and implementing fixes/solutions. Act as a liaison between the vendor and business ensuring timely resolution and follow-ups of work activities. Perform unit testing of solutions prior to moving to production. Technical liaison between vendors and business. Work closely with internal technology teams and vendors, where applicable, to ensure SLAs are met. Perform daily administration tasks. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, templates and business plans.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly system operational activities (including but not limited to job monitoring, publishing reports and processes) complete successfully and within agreed upon service level agreements. Start, monitor and stop intra-day Opics processes that support eFXT, payments, confirmations, etc. Provide backup for EOD processing initiating Opics and Reval tasks and ensuring completion of EOD process.
  • Partners with business liaisons, developers and technical teams to understand both business and system requirements. Assist in recommending, designing, testing and implementing application system upgrades and improvements and new technologies. Leads and participates on project teams producing quality and timely deliverables. Establishes and support QA environments.
  • Builds and leverages automation to decrease overall system downtime and improve systems operations.
  • Build and/or maintain system documentations, procedures and guidelines for business liaisons, Application Support team and Help Desk. Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Training

Bachelor's Degree required

Master's Degree preferred

 

Professional Experience

  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience supporting hosted solutions at mid-size or larger financial institution desired

 

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills, especially the ability to listen actively
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in application systems
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills
