Position Title: Data Analyst
Job Location: Mount Laurel, NJ
Duration :6+ Months

Summary:
This team supports the enterprise Change Management process at Comcast.  Part of what they look at is how a proposed Network change can impact a customer by cutting off service for a specified period of time.  This projects undertaking will be to 1 - smooth out the process itself and how it impacts customers (lessen the number of times customers are impacted by maintenance and network changes) 2- improve communication out to potential customers who are impacted 3 – look for ways to coordinate maintenance activity so that customer touch points are lessened (ie: 1 time versus 3).
Overall looking at how the changes we are making are impacting customers and how we can improve the process.  This is an enterprise wide Process Re-engineering role.
The Data Analyst will look at the last 6-9 months of data and identify what's been driving the impact to customers and how the process can be improved and re-engineered. 
The Data Analyst will need to be able to set up new dashboards using SQL, get into the data and the command line level and drop it into Excel.  The data will be delivered to an API and for this reason a contextual understanding of API's and JSON are required but this person will NOT be writing API's. 
This is a very open and collaborative environment, will be involved in open meetings and white boarding.  Very strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. 
This project is slated to run about 9 months.

Scope:
As a Software Developer – Data Analyst on our team you will be responsible for:
Analyzing step/process functions to identify trends, patterns, and key business drivers 
Building data models and algorithms to impact business processes 
Interacting with business process owners as well as technology team leads to develop data solutions 
Integrating new data solutions into our processes and suggest ways of improving systems
 

Skills:

The Comcast Engineering and Platform Services team is looking for someone who:

Has 5+ years of experience with data modeling, business process step analysis, algorithm development, and data analysis 
Business Process Eng/Re-engineering background. 
Has working knowledge of SQL, API's, JSON, and the ability to create/conduct self-driven data queries is a plus.  Will not be writing API's, need to understand it at a contextual level. 
Has working knowledge of Enterprise Change Management or other business critical function is a plus 
Can quickly understand business process, see the "big picture" and hone in on the key drivers that will make a difference 
Takes pride in their coding expertise, creates solutions, and delivers excellence 
Has a Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent 
Is comfortable working in an Agile environment and collaborating with peers
