DOC requires the services of UI/UX Specialist staff augmentation to work on the UI and UX design and development of creative Web UI, cutting-edge, and highly functional web application interfaces utilizing the latest web technologies for desktop/tablet/m
DOC requires the services of UI/UX Specialist staff augmentation to work on the UI and UX design and development of creative Web UI, cutting-edge, and highly functional web application interfaces utilizing the latest web technologies for desktop/tablet/mobile/cloud. This UI/UX Specialist will be working along with other UI/UX Designer and Developer for DOC applications development effort.
NOTE: DOC would prefer to have candidates with portfolios available. Online portfolio is highly preferred. If available, please provide link to the online portfolio on the resume. If online portfolio is not available, please provide PDF of the portfolio.
Responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
• Highly polished aesthetic sense – know enough UX rules to know which ones you can break
• Strong systems thinker – can concept and visualize large, complex, interconnecting software products and ecosystems
• Collaborates with Design, Business and Product Leads
• Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes using the latest web front-end technologies
• Has a record of creating great user experiences, using prototypes to discover the ideal interaction model and then refine and validate those discoveries.
• Up-level the prototyping practice and coding skills on the UX team
• Assist front-end engineers with final development
• Understands and can model the mechanics and implications of many different types of inputs, from touch to gesture to voice.
• Has a builder mentality, continuously creating experiences to advance the team's objectives.
• Collaborate with cross functional design, product and technology teams to create compelling user experiences
• Comfortable working with both technical and business minded teams
• Comfortable working within rapidly changing requirements
• Desire to grow and improve as a designer/developer
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies preferred.
• Attention to detail is a MUST
Required skills/Experience:
• 7+ years of relevant experience in digital product design (apps, web, and digital ecosystems)
• Strong portfolio of cutting edge design experiences that proves not only solid design skills but forward thinking
• HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap and JavaScript development experience
• Experience with popular front-end libraries like Angular.js, jQuery, etc.
• Experience with vector and motion graphics, including SVG, HTML5 Canvas, and Animation via JavaScript and SCSS
• Experience with development on different platforms such as iPad & Mobile.
• Comfortable enough with clean software design to create prototypes that promote modification, reuse, and extension
• Source control experience, particularly GIT, TFS.
• Experience with pre-processors and front-end tooling workflows: Node.js (NPM), Bower, SASS, LESS, Compass, Grunt and/or Gulp.
• Experience maintaining and extending a style guide for scalability and cross application usage.
• Experience with Responsive web Design (RWD) architecture.
• Strong Understanding of debugging for the browser. Specifically IE Browser.
• Requires superior verbal, oral and written communication skills. May require occasional use of presentation skills. Communicates with project team throughout all stages of design
• Future forward and concept driven thinker with a hint of visionary thrown in for good measure
• Able to bridge the gap between design and code
• Comfortable with ambiguity and UX problem solving
• Deep understanding of quality assurance and other techniques during a development process
• Willingness to take direction and learn from others
• Passionate thinker about consumer behavior
• BS in Computer Science or related field
