Data Analytics Engineer 
Job Location: San Jose, CA ( Locals Needed )

Long Term 

Rate : $40/hr c2c

EBay seeks a business-savvy, data-driven, and action-oriented individual to join its Experimentation (a/b testing) team. 

This group works across with eBay product teams for designing and ensuring data-analytics integrity for experiments (a/b tests). As an integral part of the team, your role is to develop analytics tools/queries to ensure that experimentation analytics metrics are reliable and can be used for generating product insights. 

looking for someone with 3-5 years of experience. 

Specifically, you are expected to: 
• Develop and communicate a deep understanding of eBay Product metrics. Able to identify any data integrity issues in generating any of metrics. 
• Work with Product stakeholders (Product analytics, PMs, engineers) for identifying the root cause of any data integrity issues and suggested changes to generate product insights. 
• Perform analytical deep-dives to identify problems, opportunities and specific actions required 
• Leverage data driven insights in the product brainstorming, road-mapping, and trade-off discussions 
• Work hand-in-hand with Product Management, Engineering, Design, Policy and senior executives to rapidly execute, learn and iterate 
• Be able to roll up your sleeves and work with large quantities of data by using SQL, Teradata, or other data and statistical tools as well as reporting tools such as Tableau. 

Job Requirements 
Basic Qualifications: 
• MS/PhD or Computer Science degree from a top-tier institution is required. (Or equivalent work experience) 
• Significant experience with SQL (specifically Teradata). Hadoop and Java experience will be plus. 
• Familiarity with statistical packages (SAS or R) and BI tool (Tableau) is highly desired. 
• Familiarity with EBay products is highly desired 
• Extensive Excel skills. Experience building financial models and scenario planning is a strong plus 
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. I.e., whether in PowerPoint or an elevator pitch, you need to translate complex concepts into layman's terms and influence both peers and senior leadership 
• Ability to understand what matters most and prioritize ruthlessly 

• Comfort with ambiguity, multitasking and frequent context-switching in a fast-paced environment 
• Working experience in an e-Commerce, or a network business is a strong plus 
• Experience in product analytics role is a strong plus 
• Work experience with web and mobile application user analytical tools, e.g. SiteCatalyst, is a plus 
• Familiarity with how products are architected, created (Sprints) & QA'ed is a plus.
