Title: Sr Java Developer with Web Services
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Duration: 1 Year Contract

Roles and Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing and implementing new functionality for our Client's entitlement management system. This will be a JAVA based solution using web services and TIBCO. Our client will also be building a customer facing portal. You will participate in cross organizational programs through participation in and coordination of multiple projects across worldwide lead-to-cash organizations and external partners.
Responsibilities of the Role
• Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals.
• Define technical solutions following our IT standards
• Formalize specifications, do development, perform integration testing
• Work with partnering applications for data profiling/cleansing
• Ensure business testing is completed, plan the move to production and deploy the solution
• Train application support team and provide support to business operations when needed
Skills Required/Qualifications
• Strong practical experience in coding web services (REST, SOAP) that are Java based. J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB)
Experience creating and manipulating web services (REST), SOAP
• Very experienced Java developer; ability to code without relying on templates
• Problem solving and troubleshooting coding errors a must
• Working knowledge of authentication/authorization tools and working with Apache/Tomcat & WebLogic
• Practical experience using development tools, i.e. Eclipse IDE, Subversion, J-Unit
• • Ability to work with Business process experts to translate specific requirements into a comprehensive functional specification document
• Technical knowledge and experience in some or all of the following areas;
o Programming languages; HTML, XML, C, C++, Shell scripts, and XSL
o Operating systems: HP-UX (K-shell), MS Windows
o Environment: Client/server, Web
o Database: SQL, Oracle (Pro*C)
o Data Encryption Algorithms
• Teamwork in virtual context
• Project management - Worldwide programs
• Communication (Product Engineer - Product Marketing - External partners - Production Engineer)
• Fluent English
• Licensing business mechanisms and technologies knowledge a plus
Education
• Bachelors in engineering or computer science
